A tribute, on the occasion of its 300th anniversary, to French Canada’s first classical college, the Seminary of Québec, founded by the first bishop of Québec, by consent of King Louis XIV of France. The College’s long academic history and the challenges it faced and withstood are recalled. The film concludes with an open-air concert by the Québec Symphony Orchestra.

Madwoman of God

A story of the passion between a nun and God, her "divine spouse," Jean-Daniel Lafond's film paints an astonishing portrait of Marie de l'Incarnation, a mid-seventeenth-century mystic who abandoned her son and left France to build a convent in Canada, where she became the first female writer in New France. A religious adventure story, the film shows actress Marie Tifo seeking to inhabit this unusual role. Using a script by Jean-Daniel Lafond, she tackles the nun's incandescent writing and her candid letters to her son. The documentary fuses actress and role, past and present and takes us on a truly extraordinary historical and artistic journey.

The Little Sisters

A privileged view of the convent life of Les Servantes de Jésus-Marie at Hull, Québec, an order founded in 1894 in the diocese of Ottawa. The focus of the film is on Micheline Robert who, at a time when her friends talked of marriage, turned her back on the world for a life of obedience, chastity and poverty. The film follows her progress until she takes her final vows.
